Biography of Swami Vivekananda and Essay

Born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata, Swami Vivekananda was a brilliant social reformer and a really motivating personality of India. He was the brother of seven siblings of his parents Bhuvaneshwari Devi and Vishwanath Datta.

He went to meet Sri Ramakrishna who was residing at the Kali Temple in Dakshineshwar in November 1881. He made quick walks on the spiritual path.

Swami Vivekananda left Baranagar Math and initiated a long journey to discover India in the middle of 1890. He went on a journey throughout the nation, studying the conditions of the people. In 1983, he determined to address the World Parliament of Religions so as to disperse his message in the West. His lectures at the World Parliament of Religions made him renowned as a “Messenger of Indian wisdom to the Western world” and as an “orator by divine right”. He circulated religion in England and America for 3 years and then returned to India. On 1st May 1897, he found Ramakrishna Math and Mission. He also established Belur Math in 1898.

For his second visit to the West, he leaves India in 1899. In December 1900, he returned to Belur Math. He spent his rest of his in India, motivating and teaching people. He had devoted his life by guiding others for true and pure spiritual path. His health worsened and Vivekananda breathed his last on 4 July 1902, leaving behind an eternal effect not on just the hearts of his peers, but for all the coming generations.

A worldwide famous monk, Swami Vivekananda was also known as Narendra Nath Datta in his childhood. National Youth Day is celebrated as his birth anniversary in India. His education was not regular , but he was a bright student. He was really a spiritual and religious person, renowned for his knowledge of Sanskrit. He was a great scholar, a player and a truth speaker.

Swami was greatly motivated by the religious nature of his mother and sensible mind of his father. He acquired self-control from his mother and then became a master in meditation. When he accepted Ramakrishna as his spiritual mentor, he was known as Swami Vivekananda. In a very young age, he established an outstanding leadership quality. He was also brilliant in sports, classical music, and other activities as well (also_ original it was instead of as well). By William Hastie, who was the principal of General Assembly’s Institution, he was told as, “Narendra is really a genius”.

By one of the newspapers in New York, he was ranked as greatest figure in the Parliament of Religions. He tried to eliminate poverty from India as he was a brilliant patriot and great spiritual personality throughout the nation. He was really passionate towards Hindu religion and became very victorious in creating a new understanding among people about Hinduism within and outside the nation.
