It's one thing to say to your self, "I have to do _____________" and another to have all the reasons and excuses to not do it.
Look at it this way - the reasons to do it are few and far between. It is the ones that you don't have that are the most compelling.
Here is an Example of swimming at Beach:
So just get up every morning, go to the beach and get wet, wear a bathing suit, and get your mental encouragement and encouragement from the beautiful blue water. And for your self confidence, you will want to look good and feel good.
Your feeling is a check level of your motive:
You see, if you didn't feel good and look good or be comfortable you probably wouldn't choose to go to the beach. And if you didn't want to be comfortable and don't feel like you look good you probably wouldn't go to the beach! It's a zero sum game. You either feel good or you don't.
How to measure worth of your Goal:
So when the waves hit you, you don't give up on the dream! Why? Because it's got to be worth something to you! What is it worth to you? It is the amount of pain and discomfort that you experience when your legs are underwater that is worth it. It is not the five minutes of time that you have to spend at the beach.
The amount of pain and discomfort that you experience while swimming at the beach is the value of the goal to you. If it is worth it to you then you will keep going and you will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
If the beach is not worth it to you then how much is it worth to you to have to swim home after a fun day at the beach? How much is it worth to you to have to drive back to the city after a long weekend away? How much is it worth to you to wake up from an evening spent at the gym and spend 30 minutes on a bike ride and do it everyday?
Where and how the Success comes in Life:
Once you have figured out how much it is worth to you to accomplish the goal. You don't give up on the goal because the goals that are worth it are the goals that you will not give up on! That's where your success and fulfillment in life will come from.
Life has its challenges and obstacles. The more interesting it is the more important it is to you! And the more exciting the challenges and obstacles are the more you will push through to achieve your goals!
