कमल हमारा राष्ट्रिय फूल है ।-national flower of India.
यह कीचड़ में खिलता है ।
इसका रंग प्रायः लाल होता है ।
कमल फूल की पंखुडियां बहुत सुन्दर होता है ।
यह प्रायः तालाब , पोखरों , नदी नालों आदि में पाया जाता है ।
इसकी आकृति बहुत सुन्दर होती है ।
भारत के प्रायः जगहों में यह फूल देखने को मिलता है ।
जलाशयों की पाक कीचड में इसका जनम होता है ।
कमल फूल की अनेक पंखुडियां होती हैं ।
हल्के गुलाबी और सफ़ेद रंग के फूल अधिकान्सतः दिखाई पड़ते हैं ।
इसके पत्तों की आकृति गोलाकार होती है ।
इसके पत्ते जल के ऊपर तैरते रहतें हैं ।
इसके पत्तों पर पानी टिक नहीं पाटा है ।
इसके तानों पर छोटे -छोटे कांटे रहते हैं ।
भगवान् की पूजा तथा विभिन्न अनुष्ठानों में इसका प्रयोग होता है ।
इसके पत्ते खाने के लिए थाली के रूप में प्रयोग किये जाते हैं ।
