On the day of Maha Shivaratri, Shiva holy places are flocked by many followers since the very early morning. Followers of Shiva observe and pray throughout the day and till evening.

On this day, the followers observe various rituals by doing 'rurdrabhishek' as well as put water as well as milk over the Shiva Lingam.

Shiva balances nature by serving as a God of damage. Throughout the Samudra Manthan, Shiva gulped the poison and all the Gods executed dance and also sang hymns to maintain him awake. This day is commemorated as the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati.

'Maha Shivaratri' is one of the most essential celebrations of Hindus. Maha Shivaratri essentially means the great night of Shiva or the night of Shiva. It is the festival celebrating the marriage of Lord Shiva and also Goddess Parvati. Maha Shivratri falls on the 13th evening/ 14th day of Krishna paksha of Phalgun month, according to the Hindu schedule. It is celebrated with fantastic excitement around India.
