Short Essay OR Biography of 'Morarji Desai'

Morarji Desai' was born on February 29, 1896 in Bhadeli village, currently in the Bulsar area of Gujarat. His father's name was Ranchorji Desai, who was an institution instructor at Bhavnagar (Saurashtra).

Morarji Desai underwent his key schooling in Saurashtra. Later he signed up with Bai Ava Bai High School, Valsad. After finishing from Wilson College, Mumbai, he signed up with the public service in Gujarat.

Morarji Desai surrendered as replacement enthusiast of Godhra in May 1930. He after that signed up with the liberty battle under Mahatma Gandhi and signed up with the civil disobedience activity against British rule in India. He invested years in jail throughout the freedom struggle.

On March 24, 1977, Morarji Desai was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India . He was honoured with Pakistan's Award Nishan-e-Pakistan. He was also honoured with the great Indian noncombatant award 'Bharat Ratna'.

Morarji Desai passed away on 10 April 1995 at the age of 99. For him, the fact was an article of faith as well as not usefulness. He seldom permitted his principles to be subordinated to the exigencies of the scenario.

As Prime Minister, Morarji Desai was keen that the people of India have to be helped to become fearless to a degree where even if the greatest in the land dedicates a wrong. "No one, not even the Prime Minister", he was repeatedly claimed, "need to be above the law of the land".
